On the afternoon of March 27, Premier Li Qiang held talks at the Diaoyutai State Guesthouse in Beijing with Prime Minister Mark Rutte of the Netherlands, who was in China for a working visit.

Li Qiang said that 74 years ago today, the Netherlands announced its recognition of New China and was at the forefront of European countries in developing relations with China. Over the past 70 years, China-Dutch relations have realized remarkable development. Especially since the two countries established an open and pragmatic comprehensive cooperative partnership in 2014, the development of China-Dutch relations has entered a fast lane, and cooperation in various fields has been fruitful and has truly benefited the two peoples. The two countries have recently reached important consensus, which has set a clear direction for the further development of bilateral relations. China is willing to work with the Netherlands to continue to carry forward the spirit of open and pragmatic cooperation, and to promote the steady development of bilateral relations to achieve more win-win results. Li Qiang pointed out that the world is in turmoil today, with protectionism and cold war thinking on the rise, which have a greater impact on international relations and the international economy. China and the Netherlands adhere to free trade, should continue to expand mutual openness, strengthen practical cooperation, which is conducive to the consolidation and deepening of relations between the two countries, in line with the fundamental interests of the people of both sides, and inject more stability and certainty into the world. The two sides should continue to expand the scale of economic and trade cooperation, tap the potential for cooperation in areas such as artificial intelligence, green transformation, and the silver economy, and strengthen innovative cooperation in offshore wind power, photovoltaic power generation, hydrogen energy and other fields to provide stronger impetus for the development of the two countries. China will continue to create a market-oriented, legal and international first-class business environment, and welcomes more Dutch companies to invest in China. We also encourage more Chinese companies to invest and develop in the Netherlands, and hope that the Netherlands will provide more convenience for Chinese personnel to go to the Netherlands. Li Qiang said that China has always believed that cooperation should be the mainstream of China-EU relations, and partnership is the most correct positioning for both sides. China welcomes the EU to share China's super-large market opportunities and hopes that the EU will prudently introduce restrictive economic & trade policies and use trade remedy measures. China is willing to work with the Netherlands to promote the sustained, healthy and stable development of China-EU relations. Rutte said that the open and pragmatic comprehensive partnership between the Netherlands and China has achieved fruitful results for a long time. The Netherlands cherishes the friendship between the Netherlands and China, adheres to the one-China principle, and is willing to work with China to strengthen mutual learning and mutual understanding, expand mutually beneficial cooperation, deepen humanistic exchanges, and jointly respond to global challenges such as climate change, so as to promote the continuous development of Netherlands-China and EU-China relations.

Wu Zhenglong attended the talks.
